BeanQuest (BQ) is a student-led café and real-world business lab where students learn by doing. By running every aspect of the café—from brewing coffee to managing finances, marketing, and operations—students gain practical business skills, leadership experience, and entrepreneurial confidence. It’s more than just serving coffee; it’s about ownership, responsibility, and innovation. At BQ, students don’t just study business—they live it.
The BQ curriculum is designed to give students hands-on experience in running a real business while developing essential life skills—all while operating a fully functional café.
Students start with essential business skills and workplace safety training. They explore teamwork, responsibility, and compliance while understanding the importance of a safe work environment. This foundation prepares them to handle equipment, interact with customers, and operate professionally.
Students explore consumer preferences, conduct surveys, and analyze market trends to create customer-focused products. They develop pricing strategies, design menus, and make informed sourcing decisions. Through data-driven insights, they learn how to understand and engage their target audience effectively.
Students step into key operational roles, managing inventory, budgeting, and daily café logistics. They track expenses, streamline workflows, and ensure efficient operations. This hands-on experience builds financial literacy, teaching them how to make strategic decisions that drive profitability.
Students develop promotional campaigns, design loyalty programs, and interact with real customers. They build brand identity, leverage social media marketing, and refine customer service strategies. This hands-on experience enhances creativity, communication, and strategic thinking in attracting and retaining clientele.
In the final stage, students take on management roles, mentor peers, and implement quality control measures for consistency. They drive innovation, propose new ideas, and refine both product and service quality. This phase strengthens leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
